Appliance Repair Photos from Real Jobs Around Charlotte

No stock photos. This is what we actually find when the panels come off: lint where air should flow, freezers turned into ice blocks, and the occasional bird family living in a dryer vent. Every photo is from a real job in the Charlotte area.

A Dryer Full of Lint, Cleaned Out

Drag the red handle. Same dryer, same spot, before we started and after we finished.

Electric dryer
What we found
Lint caked around the motor, blower housing and heater box
What we did
Took the dryer apart and cleaned every inch of the airflow path
Why it matters
Lint chokes airflow, so clothes take forever to dry and the dryer runs hot

New refrigerator defrost heater next to the corroded old one

The usual culprit

A worn-out defrost heater (right) next to its replacement. When this part fails, frost never melts off the coil, airflow stops, and the fridge slowly warms up. It's one of the most common refrigerator repairs we do. More on refrigerator repair

Strange But True

Things We've Pulled Out of Dryers

Some of these are why your clothes take two cycles. One of them laid eggs.

A Dress Caught Behind the Drum

Fabric caught behind a dryer drum, seen with the front panel removedPulling a polka-dot dress out from behind a dryer drumPolka-dot dress removed from the dryer, laid on the floor

A dress slipped past the drum and got wrapped up where it should never go. Once the front panel came off, we worked it out piece by piece.

When water sits in the drum after a cycle, a clogged drain pump is often why.

Reading the Signs

What These Photos Usually Mean

If your appliance is acting like one of these, here's where to start.

Ice on the back wall or floor of the freezer

Usually a defrost problem. The fridge keeps cooling less and less until it's warm.

Refrigerator repair

Clothes still damp after a full cycle

Lint in the dryer or a blocked vent. It wastes energy and makes the dryer run hot.

Dryer repair

Water left in the washer drum

Often a clogged pump or something stuck where it shouldn't be.
